The Election Commission of India has already announced notification for Rajya Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh. Six seats fall vacant with the end of the term of the existing members from Andhra Pradesh. K.Kesava Rao, Sanjeeva Reddy, Dasari Narayana Rao, Rasheed Alvi (all congress MPs ), M.V.Mysoora Reddy (TDP) and Aziz Pasha (CPI).

Chiranjeevi is said to be the choice of the high command and the state leaders as well as he had come to the rescue of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government when a no confidence motion was moved on the floor of the assembly by the TDP. Chiranjeevi who allowed merger of his party with the ruling party stands better chances than any other aspirant for one of the four seats to be filled up. The star turned politician had also bargained for a berth in the union cabinet and it may come off as scheduled, according to sources.

From TDP the Seema leader and sitting member Dr M.V.Mysoora Reddy stands a better chance as he is said to be the choice of the TDP Supremo. Besides, Mysoora is said to have a good grip over the national politics and the parliament proceedings which was considered a plus point for him.
